Cough Suppressant

Updated: May 9, 2021

4 servings

Be careful not to boil the tea for more than 1 minute. Too much heat will give the tea a bitter taste and not be as nutrient-rich.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 handful oregano

  • 1 handful thyme

  • 2 in piece ginger, peeled, grated

  • 2 in piece turmeric, peeled, grated

  • ½ teaspoon black peppercorns

  • 1 small garlic clove, grated

  • ¼ cup honey, preferably raw

  • ¼ cup unsweetened oat milk

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

  • 1 Drop of HTFSE per Cup

RECIPE PREPARATION

Lightly bruise oregano and thyme with broad side of a large knife to release the herbs oils. Then, heat herbs, ginger, turmeric, peppercorns, and 10 cups water in a medium saucepan; the temperature is around 130°F. Do not let it boil. Once it gets to 130°F for 2 minutes, reduce heat to low and let mixture steep 10 minutes.

While it’s still on low, add the honey and mix until it dissolves. Then add garlic, honey, almond milk, and lime juice. Let steep again for an additional 5 minutes. And strain into mugs. Only once your brew is in the mixture add two drops of HTFSE per cup and gently stir. We recommend a citrus HTFSE, but, it's up to you.
