Plant antioxidants are a great source of ‘anti-inflammatory’ or ‘antioxidant’ properties, such as substances like ascorbic acid and tocopherols, polyphenolic compounds, or terpenoids. For example Limonene, which is a monoterpene present in many citrus extracts has been shown to reduce cancer in many lab tests. So, we thought we would make something that tastes great and has healing properties.
Pink Grapefruit isn’t everyone’s favourite, it can be pretty bitter, but, when you mix it with banana and a non-dairy-milk, the grapefruit is transformed!
Throw in a little maca powder for extra magnesium, iron and zinc and you’ve got yourself a powerhouse of a smoothie.
Who says edibles have to give you diabetes.

INGREDIENTS
1 large pink grapefruit
1 medium banana
1 ½ cup non-dairy milk
1/2 tsp fresh ginger, chopped or in powder form
1 tbsp maca powder
1 medium carrot
3 ice cubes
1 tbsp olive oil 3 drops HTFSE
DIRECTIONS
Mix the maca powder with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and add in 3 drops of HTFSE.
Peel the grapefruit outer skin and as much of the white skin attached to the segments.
Put all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
